USA BMX Welcomes new Editor for PULL Magazine
USA BMX and PULL Magazine Welcomes New Editor and Photographer Jason McGuire
Gilbert, AZ - February 7th, 2013: USA BMX and PULL Magazine are proud to announce the hiring of Jason “Shooter” McGuire as its new Editor and Photographer for the monthly membership magazine. As an avid BMX racer and accomplished freelance commercial and BMX photographer, Jason is joining USA BMX from Boise, ID. After a couple of years spent in Minneapolis, MN working in the world of Commercial Advertising, Jason was ready for a move back into his old BMX stomping grounds and gladly jumped on the opportunity to join the USA BMX team as our new Editor and Photographer.
Jason received his degree in Photographic Communications from Northwest College and while mainly focusing on his portfolio work, Jason worked with The Northwest Trail - a Nationally awarded and recognized weekly paper. He has been a working photographer for the last five years and more importantly, has been an avid BMX racer since 2000. As a BMX photographer, Jason worked frequently with Fly Racing on multiple catalog productions and had been a contributor to PULL Magazine during 2012. Growing up in Boise, ID and starting to race BMX at age 9, Jason grew up on his bike, spending most of his time at the track. During that time, he had been sponsored by Idaho Express/Fly Racing and the now defunct CMC National BMX Team. While you can still find him occasionally racing around the track, he feels right at home behind the lens of his Cannon - always working on getting that perfect shot.
"We're excited to see our staff here at USA BMX grow," stated USA BMX CCO Craig "gOrk" Barrette - who has been handling Editor duties for PULL magazine for the past year and a half. "With Jason on board, we plan to add more feature stories to the membership magazine and focus on building up the heroes of the sport. Jason can take some great pics and seems to be a perfect fit with the USA BMX staff and our goals for the direction of Pull magazine."
gOrk will remain on the Pull masthead, but now under the title of managing editor.
McGuire plans on contributing to the success and ongoing development of PULL magazine so USA BMX can continue to give its members and industry the most thorough BMX racing publication in North America. "Working for USA BMX and PULL Magazine is a dream come true," McGuire said. "As Editor and Photographer, my job is to team up with our media department to continue giving our readers the best content available, and help produce a magazine that's indispensable in our readers' lives. Our wonderful sport is growing faster then ever and it is our duty to keep pumping out vital news, great photography and in depth feature issues. I'm stoked to be back full force with our tight knit BMX community, and look forward to this new opportunity."
