Tara Llanes is a warrior. 
Always has been. Always will be.

In her earliest days of BMX racing, she showed talent way ahead of her peers. Competing in ABA honed her two wheeled skills and brought Llanes much success - racing for factory teams from Aussie Gear to the Championship-winning Haro-Crupi squad. And it's those same skills learned on a 20-inch and cruiser that helped her move on to a highly successful mountain bike career - riding for top teams such as Specialized and Giant.

Like many before her, the cross over from BMX success led to Mountain Biking domination!

Then, in September 2007, at the Jeep King of the Mountain race in Beaver Creek, Colorado, Tara suffered a spinal cord injury - crashing in her semi-final and breaking her seventh cervical vertebra. But that injury hasn't stopped her - and if anything, it has fueled her drive and passion even more. Tara has continued to shred mountain terrain - in her 4-wheeled Sport-On offroad hand-cycle. As if she hadn't already accomplished enough, she has also played wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball for Team Canada in the ParaOlympics.
She just might be the most inspirational BMX Hall of Famer ever inducted.
