Two Nationals Added for June

Wednesday, May 20 USA BMX/BMX Canada Event Updates

Following the news last week that the USA BMX National Championship Series will resume at the inaugural Bounce Back Nationals in Pryor, Oklahoma on June 5-7, USA BMX will also add the Desert Classic Nationals (June 12-14) and Carolina Nationals (June 19-21) to the racing calendar in June.   

As of today, these are the following Nationals that have been added/ rescheduled: 

  • (New) Bounce Back Nationals - Pryor, OK (June 5-7) Mayes County BMX 
  • *(New) Desert Classic Nationals - Phoenix, AZ (June 12-14) Black Mountain BMX
  • **(Rescheduled) Carolina Nationals - Rock Hill, SC (June 19-21) Rock Hill BMX Supercross 

In the case of the Bounce Back Nationals and Desert Classic Nationals, USA BMX has partnered with host sites based on availability rather than the previously confirmed 2020 racing schedule. However, the rescheduling of the previously postponed Carolina Nationals in Rock Hill will allow USA BMX to return to the site of the originally scheduled March 27-29 event. 

USA BMX remains committed to the rescheduling or completion of the 2020 National Championship Series Schedule and continues to work extensively with local and state officials to ensure these events can be hosted safely and in line with each state and local community’s reopening plan. The result of these efforts is the creation of a sound operational plan which addresses the concerns of social distancing, sanitation, customer interaction and other event specific modifications. As of today, these are the following Nationals that have been postponed/ cancelled:

  • (Postponed) Midwest Nationals - Rockford, IL (June 19-21)
  • (Cancelled) The Greater Toronto Nationals - Stouffville, ON (June 19-21) 
  • (Cancelled) Firestorm Nationals - Kelowna, BC (June 26-28) 

Any rider who pre-registered for these events will receive an automatic refund to their credit card. Additionally, all reservations for hotel rooms for these events through BMXhotels.com will automatically be cancelled and deposit refunded.

*For the Desert Classic Nationals, USA BMX will offer early bird discounts through Tuesday, June 9 at 5 p.m. PST ($10 off Class/Cruiser registrations and $5 off Open registrations). Online registration will close Friday, June 12 at 8 a.m. PST.  Additionally, Spot’s weekend event insurance coverage will be available at each event as a $15 add-on during online registration.

**For the Carolina Nationals, USA BMX will be utilizing BMXHotels.com to offer discounted room blocks for participants and their families. Those families booking rooms through BMXHotels.com will receive a discount code to redeem for discounted race entries during the pre-sign period. This functionality will be made available in the coming week for the Carolina Nationals.  Additionally, Spot’s weekend event insurance coverage will be available at each event as a $15 add-on during online registration.
