After all of the fun and thrills from last year's Fall Nationals, USA BMX and its members could hardly wait to come back for more!  The 2018 National circuit returned to Metro BMX in Bakersfield, to take on the concrete turns and rhythm-filled straightaways for some top-notch racing.

After all of the fun and thrills from last year's Fall Nationals, USA BMX and its members could hardly wait to come back for more!  The 2018 National circuit returned to Metro BMX in Bakersfield, to take on the concrete turns and rhythm-filled straightaways for some top-notch racing.

The official son of Metro BMX is Free Agent pro Jordan Miranda, whose parents are now the track operators of this jump-infested, revamped venue. But he's not alone - Metro BMX has plenty of fast cats who call Metro their home. The RaceFast team is based out of Bako, with a roster full of fast cats - from girls Brooke Walski (7g) and Kaylie Prior (10g). Clayborn is another factory team who has cherry-picked the fastness of Bakersfield locals - including Mikaelah Lowe - winner of 8girls:

8 GIRLS

  • MIKAELAH LOWE, CLAYBORN BICYCLES/ANSWER, BAKERSFIELD, CA
  • ANNALYSE SOLANO, ELITE BICYCLES/FLY, CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA
  • PRESLIE GOULD, YESS, HENDERSON, NV
  • JAEDYN SMITH, SIMI VALLEY, CA
  • PROMISE EVERETT, NUEVO, CA
  • TRUE JOHNSON, ELITE BICYCLES/FLY, BAKERSFIELD, CA
You're starting to get our point, right? The list of local hotdogs in Bakersfield is a long one. Elite's mini-munchkin Jordan Johnson won 5x, while their top-gun girl True Johnson scored a 6th. Logan Martin was on fire in 6x, and BlackBox's Antonio Rameriz found his way to the main in 21-25x.

Another Bako local - Free Agent's Nathan Kitchen, was giving Ronnie Kim fits all weekend in 12x, and snuck in some local moves early in qualifying. While he might be disapointed with his 4th place finish in 12x on Saturday, we're sure that he'll make the podium on Sunday. While it seems, these days, that its an impossible feat to beat Ronnie Kim, we believe that if anybody can, it's Kitchen.

Along with Free Agent and Clayborn, Full Tilt Racing is another team who has nabbed some of Bakersfield's finest and fastest - from 7x winner Cohen James to musclehead Christian Ricks - who looks like he has been spending more time in the gym than at the track lately (and an 8th in 26-35x was proof). But man, his biceps are dreamy.

But the fastest Bakersfield local / Full Tilt'er of them all has to be Peter Choat aka "Valentino," who made this weekend his return to racing after a serious injury earlier this year. Choat's been sidelined for awhile, but has healed-up at a miraculous speed to be ready to rock at his home track. For him to just make the 13x main was a triumph, and a sixth place score was impressive considering what the kid's been thru over the past couple months.
