ALEC BOB TO BE AWARDED NATIONAL BMX HALL OF FAME SCHOLARSHIP

(Gilbert, AZ): The Hall of Fame Board of Directors have chosen 18-year-old Alec Bob - from Plano, Texas, as the 2015 recipient of the National BMX Hall of Fame Scholarship. Bob is sponsored by Free Agent Bicycles and will be attending Marian University in September, where his sister also attends with a cycling scholarship.  

The National BMX Hall of Fame Scholarship committee annually awards funds to a collegiate BMX rider who exemplifies true professionalism, possesses solid potential for a future National No.1 Championship and possible Olympic qualification and medal potential. Alec put his name in the ring after becoming the first amateur winner on the big hill of Rock Hill, SC's Carolina nationals. His Friday night victory in the Super-X Open, up against some of the fastest ams in the country, impressed many.   

USA BMX and the National BMX Hall of Fame will present Bob with a Scholarship check during the 2015 BMX Hall of Fame ceremony - held on Saturday night, October 10th, at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. Tickets will be available at:https://2015bmxhof.eventbrite.com

About the National BMX Hall of Fame: The National BMX Hall of Fame annually inducts 5 legendary BMXers - one pioneer, one racer, one freestyle rider, one influential Industry person, as well as one influential BMX woman. Special Recognition inductees are also included, on occasion.

Anybody can nominate someone for consideration for one of the five spots on the ballot (per category). The final-5 nominees are decided by the National BMX Hall of Fame selection committees and Board of Directors, and then voted on by a group of 500+.
The official home of the National BMX Hall of Fame is located at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA.
