I started racing BMX in 1978 on our local track that my brother built behind our barn. Then in 1980, my brother, my father, and Mark Capel which had a local bike shop in my home town of Eunice, La. decided to build a nice BMX track to get it sanctioned by the ABA. We raced and owned our track until 1988 when my father decided to shut down the track due to lack of riders. I quit racing for 29 years and did not start back up unitl they built a track in Lafayette, La. ( Cajun BMX ) in 2017. It has been a blast since I have got back into the sport and have some of my family members racing on my JBR Team which makes it even more special.
