History of Cape Coral BMX
2019
Cape Coral BMX track was originally built in 1978 as part of the Bicycle Motocross Association.
The Track was officially incorporated 23 April 1979 and is considered one of the oldest, continuously operated tracks in the United States.
Cape Coral BMX has gone through several sanctioning bodies the first being The Bicycle Motocross Association, National Bicycle Association [NBL], and presently sanctioned by USA BMX, a division of the American Bicycle Association.
Cape Coral BMX track is located on a parcel of land belonging to the city of Cape Coral parks and recreation department. The city of Cape Coral provides no financial support to Cape Coral BMX Association, Inc. They do provide the building and lighting and water for our operation.
Cape Coral BMX Association, Incorporated is a totally voluntary organization that receives all its funding from rider activity and generous support from donations.
Cape Coral BMX track normally has 3 practices and 2 races each week. We’ve also hosted several large events. In 2019 CCBMX hosted a Florida State Series Qualifier and a Gold Cup Qualifier.
