Is the track open tonight?

Please see our Hours page. If you are wondering if the weather has affected the schedule, please follow us on Facebook and @BmxBlueSprings on Instagram!

What do I need to race?

  • USA BMX Membership
  • Long pants
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Helmet (we have a supply of loaner helmets if needed)
  • Competitive spirit
  • Good attitude
  • Willingness to learn

What do I wear to race?

We strongly recommend a long sleeve shirt and long pants. Shorts are acceptable so long as the rider wears combination knee/ shin guards and there is NO skin visible from the waist to the ankle. Shorts and knee/shin guards are NOT recommended for new riders.

Can I bring my own bike?

Absolutely! For safety reasons the chain guard, reflectors and any accessories (horns, bells, water bottles, etc.) must be removed from the bike before it will be allowed on the track.

What if I don't have a suitable bike?

The track has a number of loaner racing bikes available for checkout to new riders. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis on any given practice or race night. Track Staff will be happy to assist in picking out the right size bike! There is no charge for the use of our bikes.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

YES! Riders racing on the big track must wear full-face helmets. Striders may wear park or street-style helmets.

What if I don't have a helmet?

We have loaner helmets at the Registration window. Come see us and we’ll find one that fits properly.

What's this membership? Do I have to have it?

First, yes, a membership is required. The membership is to the national sanctioning body, USA BMX.

How much is the membership to USABMX?

  • Your first day is free. You can sign the waivers and try out BMX right away.
  • A full membership is $80 per year. This includes being counted in points standings, a profile on the USABMX website, and you are eligible to participate in any USABMX sanctioned event.
  • Balance bike (strider) memberships are $40. This membership can be upgraded to full membership for $45.

How many wins does my rider have?

That is one of the most asked questions we get. You will need to keep track of your rider's wins as the system sometimes has a lag in current information. The information is available on USABMX in the District points section. There is a win column there and will have a date of the last win that they have in the system. However, if a race has not been submitted by the local track it might not be in the system so that is not always 100% accurate. You can also use the race history and trophy room in your rider's member profile on USABMX.com to track those wins. We would encourage you to write it on the trophies, keep a list in the notes on your phone or use a tracker page like this:

Race2Intermediate   or   Race2Expert

As a last resort, you can email [email protected] and request a race audit for your rider. If a rider races out of class they run the risk of forfeiting those points so be sure you keep track and ask questions if you aren't sure.
