I started racing Bmx back in 1984 at Sunol (EBRA) in Fremont California. I continued to ride well into my late teens. Like so many work, kids, life put BMX on the back burner. I continued to ride MTB. Once my 2 boys got old enough to ride bikes, we jumped back into BMX, as a family. The great thing about this sport is you can get out and participate side by side with your kids.

After racing 10 times when I was 11 years old, I was forced out of the sport due to a lack of funds. 18 years later I drove past the Pleasanton Jump Track and slammed on the brakes, flipped a U-turn and sat watching kids ride for 2 hours. That week I bought a bike and rode 5 times. A friendly racer invited me out to Manteca for Sunday racing. I showed up with a t-shirt, shorts, a half-shell helmet and my jump bike. Paul Jaquish lent me some gear, even though he didn't know me, so that I could ride the track. That week I bought a race-bike from Paul with a promise he would train me. Over the past 4 months (with Paul's high level training) I have moved from Beginner to Intermediate to Expert, even racing in a few Pro-Am races! My first National was Reno Blackjack, and I took first in Intermediate all three days! Now, in Expert, I'm loving the fast-paced action and learning to navigate my way through the pack. All I can say is this: "Whether you say you can or you can't, you'll be right."

Bicycles and BMX have been a passion for me since early childhood. BMX is great because of the balance of skill strength mental composure and technical gear. We all see these things and or others in our sport that drive our enrichment and fun. In the late 70s to early 80s I raced. Growing from novice to AA pro in 5 years was a great experience. The excitement and learning were priceless. In 2009 I came back. Some strong support from those who believed in me brought some great fun and solid results. Racing is still a great passion for me - the focus it takes to do well.... Helping people see their full potential and taking steps to get there is something I really enjoy. That is why I am now also a USABMX Coach. Anything I can do to encourage teach and support our community is a wonderful opportunity.
