    BMX racers converged on Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday for the right to earn the Stars-and-Stripes jersey at the 2013 USA Cycling Amateur BMX National Championships. Riders from 35 different age categories battled each other and the elements for the right to call themselves the best in the nation in their respective divisions. Even a powerful afternoon storm that moved through the area could not dampen the enthusiasm of the racers.

    In the entire United States, there are only two covered buildings such as this - built by the City and designed to host local and national events. There is Metroplex BMX in DeSoto ... and there is Duke City BMX in Albuquerque. The annual Spring Nationals is New Mexico's Memorial Day tradition - and the action is sure to be HOT, as usual.     Make it three straight elite supercross national titles for Olympian Alise Post (Saint Cloud, Minn./Redline) after she dominated the women's competition on Saturday at the 2013 USA Cycling Elite BMX National Championships in southern California. Fellow 2012 Olympian Nic Long(Lakeside, Calif./Haro Bikes) captured his second national championship and first since 2010 in the men's elite field.
